DAVE BEVAN

Who are you, and what do you love to do?

Hello, my name is David Bevan. Please call me Dave. I live in Stroud, UK.

When I’m not at the office... I enjoy spending time with my family. On summer evenings, I’ll either be firing up the Kamado BBQ grill, going out on walks, bike rides, or paddle boarding. I’m always looking for a book to read. Travelling has always been important for me. No matter if it’s business or family trips. At the beach in Spain or city break across Italy. I’m soaking in the culture and seeing the sights.

How did you get here? What experiences have led you to this point in your life?

It first started back in 2001, I remember building all sorts of simple sites with my friends using Windows 98 computers in high school. Even picking up the basics of Dreamweaver and understanding HTML. This was all done in my downtime when I wasn’t skateboarding with friends.

I grew up with two design-related passions - web design and product design. I graduated in 2008 with a degree in Product Design from Swansea Metropolitan University. As a graduate in ‘08, the time came to build a website to showcase my portfolio and get myself noticed online.

In 2015, I started a video blog on social media in my free time (‘how to’ gardening tutorials). I realised I needed a website to link all social platforms together. Instead of building it myself, I’d put my faith in the hands of a web professional to build it for me. The results were better than I could have imagined, with incredible features and more. I really appreciated that hands-on service.

I spent over 10 years in the product development industry. Collaborating with major global brands (Coca-Cola, Pepsi, etc.) in beverage and homecare. Four-time patent design inventor. Spearheading projects with marketing, sales, and design teams. The products I’ve worked on can be found in supermarkets around the globe (It’s bottle tops – you can find them down the non-alcoholic drinks aisle). A career change came in 2021 and the opportunity to reach out to my second passion (though it never truly left).

When was the first time you used a photobooth? Why did you use it? Who were you with? What was the experience like?

The first time I used a photobooth was when I was 15 years old, and my mother took me to the local grocery store. It was for my first passport so I could attend my high school trip outside of the UK to Normandy.

Remember it is less than a minute before the pictures are printed and ready. Wasn’t allowed to smile ‘in the moment’ when my picture was taken. However, after holding the photo, I recall having a big grin as I was heading on my first school adventure.

When did you start working with BoothWebsite, and what do you do to help push the business forward?

I joined BoothWebsite in 2022. I’m building and supporting photo booth websites that meet the needs of business owners.

What is a particular skill that you have that you think would help small business owners improve their website?

Apart from my previous experience with global brands, understanding their needs, and appreciating how to achieve their vision. I’ve completed an SEO Google course to ensure that all businesses are aligned with Google’s best practice, receiving a certificate in the process. In addition I also have over 10 years of experience in website design, branding and consumer behaviour, and the photo booth industry, as well as creating (as of writing this) 30 photo booth websites.

What BoothWebsite feature do you think is most likely to dramatically improve someone's business?

No two websites are ever the same. In fact, some sites are very unique. BoothWebsite provides the experience that allows us to discuss with clients what they want to achieve from their site(both website and photo booth), then really dialling in on what’s needed so everyone viewing the site gets excited.

Why should people use BoothWebsite in their business?

Like anyone can kick a football, anyone can make a website.

The problem is the devil is in the detail. As you begin to unearth what goes into a website, it becomes more than you originally imagined. The demands of websites have grown over the years along with the demands of consumer expectations.

Whether you agree or not, your business image is more important than ever online. Consumers unconsciously make lightning-fast decisions as soon as they see your website. Whether or not they want to book an event with you. Or even refer you to a friend.

A website is an extension of you and your business. We don’t just look at making a good-looking website, make sure that your site represents your brand. Where consumers feel trusted and excited to make that booking with you.

With our experience in website design, consumer behaviour, and photo booths we are ready to achieve the vision you want. Keeping up to date with SEO best practice, and trends. BoothWebsite aims to always have a front row of the latest booths and website knowledge.
